Kokanee Soaring Adventures (KSA) incorporated in 2019 to provide glider tours of the mountains of BC. Principally based in Nelson BC KSA chose the Diamond HK 36 TTC self launch glider for the passenger experience. The Diamond has unmatched visibility from inside the bubble canopy, uses minimal fuel to climb, has respectable 27:1 glide ratio, and a proven safety record with over 900 manufactured.  

Kokanee Soaring Adventures is a Transport Canada approved Glider Flight Training Unit. To pilot the Diamond HK 36 requires a glider license. Unique to this glider type, it can self launch and fly cross country (if desired) on it’s own engine power. No tow plane is required which greatly reduces the carbon footprint. Even pure gliders rely on big powerful engines (in the tow plane) to get to altitude. Kokanee Soaring Adventures is carbon neutral. We purchase gold standard carbon offsets from less.ca for every tour. Each tour uses between 5 to 10 litres of high octane gasoline. While this is very little for an aircraft we are committed to offsetting even the small amount used. KSA uses the Chevy Bolt electric vehicle for road transportation. This has resulted in a real reduction of 9500 KG of GHG emissions per year. Fly carbon free.
